Soldering Away pt.2

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Here’s a couple more of the solder pieces I made yesterday. The first one is a group of pretty fairy friends with the words “Joy is great friends”, I added some orange and pink shades of ink to the old book page to add more color and tie it all together. I also soldered around a very old vintage button (that still has thread in it!) and hung that from the bottom.

The next one is another Paris themed collage with two lovers standing in front of the Eiffel Tower, there is a postage cancellation on the glass itself and some pretty beads ( one is heart shaped) hanging below.

A Work in Progress part 3

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

This is my last attempt at the large mannequin I’ve been working on for the last month. I got some beautiful chocolate silk for the skirt and put two layers of tole underneath to get it to really poof up. I got some white lace and wanted to antique it so I tea dyed it to go around the top of the skirt. I had a scrap of the silk left so I made a rosette with it and changed the button and attached it to the neck. I’m really happy with the outcome.
