Wow, it’s been forever since my last post! Hubby and I have been sick with chest colds and bronchitis for a couple of weeks 🙁 But I wanted to pop in and share a card I made this week for my sister in law’s birthday, she loves fairies too and I’d just gotten this wonderful stamp from Emerald Faeries.

Always Be Yourself
Saturday, October 8th, 2011I’m really excited to be using Inkadinkado stamps all this month over on the Craft Gossip blog! I got lots of wonderful stamps to play with and will be sharing samples and having giveaways all through October. You can visit the Craft Gossip stamping blog by clicking here.
Here’s one of my favorite cards I’ve made so far. I took the collage style cameo stamp and added a witches hat from another Inkadinkado stamp set and turned her into a witch. I used non traditional colors to make it more unique.

The text stamp is from Stampers Anonymous. The background is vintage math book paper and I also added a piece of vintage tape measure.

Have a Magical Day!
Monday, September 26th, 2011I adore the Pure Innocence stamp line from My Favorite Things, it’s one of my faves, I’d love to own them all 🙂
Here’s a card I made for the MFT weekly sketch challenge. I took the little girl holding the pumpkin and drew a jack o’ lantern face on the pumpkin and added a witches hat to her to take it from being a more fall image to Halloween. The sentiment stamp is from the Pure Innocence Fairy stamp set. The papers are from Cosmo Cricket.

Make a Splash!
Sunday, September 18th, 2011For my birthday this year my hubby got me lots of great stamps, one was an adorable mermaid set from “There She Goes”. I’d never gotten their stamps before but I will be getting more, I love them! I used a few from the set to make my niece’s birthday card. I colored the images with a combination of paper piecing, colored pencils and markers. Adding glitter glue to her tail. The outside says “Make a splash” and the inside says “on your birthday!” Isn’t she cute!?

Dashing Through the Snow
Wednesday, September 7th, 2011Here’s my card for the latest Lawnscaping challenge, the theme this time is embossing.
I chose to do both wet and dry embossing on my card. I embossed the bunny from Lawn Fawn’s Winter Bunny in white on craft cardstock, I love this look, it really pops. I added some subtle color to his scarf and the sled with markers. I also heat embossed some liquid applique on his tail for a little puff. I used the swirl embossing folder from Cuttlebug for the snow and my background paper, adding glitter to the embossed swirl on the snow. The sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn Critters of the Sea set.

I (heart) Robot
Wednesday, August 31st, 2011*BEEB BOOP BEEB* Here’s a cute Robot card I made with die cuts from my Silhouette. I made a hinge in his chest so it opens up with a stamped “I love you” inside. I added brads for his “bolts”. I love the notebook edge die, isn’t it cool? All die cuts are from Silhouette, pattern paper from My Minds Eye, the stamp sentiment is from The Stamps of Life.

Woo-Hoo
Friday, August 19th, 2011This card is for the latest challenge over at Lawnscaping. This time around the challenge is a one layer card, wow, that’s a tough one 🙂 I needed to make a card for my stepdad’s birthday so I thought I make this card for him.
I think masking is a good way to add depth without actually adding layers. For my card I used a craft cardstock base and stamped the owl and tree trunk from the Lawn Fawn Critters of the Forest set and colored them with Prismacolor pencils. I then used a masking material from Stampendous and die cut a circle and placed that over the owl and then stamped the wood stamp from Stampabilities over top. To add more depth and ground it a bit better I used a thin black marker to go around the opening and edges of the wood design. I also added the sentiment from the same set. It’s a little more clean and simple than I normally do but I think it’s fun and masculine too.

What Big Eyes You Have
Tuesday, August 9th, 2011Here’s my latest card for the Lawnscaping challenge. The theme this time around is distressing, right up my alley! I wanted to make a Little Red Ridding Hood card so I used stamps from the Lawn Fawn “Critters in the Forest” set, turning the fox into the wolf and Red is from The Greeting Farm. To get my distressed look I inked up the edges of a lot of the paper and stamped images. I also used a distressing tool to rough up the edges of the trees and red polka dot paper. The brown background is a white core cardstock that I sanded. I like how this card is a little sinister, the wolf is pining for little Miss Hood. 😉
