I just did a review over on Craft Gossip using the Silhouette Fabric Interfacing material which allows you to cut out fabric with a Silhouette die cutting machine. I was amazed at how clean it cut! For my project I cut out some banners, a bird and the word “happy” and ironed them onto some unbleached muslin, sewed on some buttons, added some ribbon knots and put it in a wooden embroidery hoop. I love my blue bird of happiness wall hanging, I think it’s adorable!

Paper Pins
Wednesday, May 8th, 2013I just did a review for Craft Gossip for Silhouette’s new chipboard. This thin chipboard cuts easily with the Silhouette die cut machine and I’m thinking of so many things I can make with it like banners, shrine boxes, little houses….
I’ve seen a lot of pretty jewelry pieces lately made with layered die cut wood and thought I could do the same using the chipboard. So I cut out my shapes along with pattern papers in the same shapes and sizes and layered them, using a glue stick to adhere them together. I used two layers of the chipboard for the bases just so they were nice and sturdy. I added a little ink to the edges for even more dimension and then glued on pin backs. I think these turned out really fun.
