For my birthday this year my hubby got me lots of great stamps, one was an adorable mermaid set from “There She Goes”. I’d never gotten their stamps before but I will be getting more, I love them! I used a few from the set to make my niece’s birthday card. I colored the images with a combination of paper piecing, colored pencils and markers. Adding glitter glue to her tail. The outside says “Make a splash” and the inside says “on your birthday!” Isn’t she cute!?

A Witches Best Friend
Thursday, September 8th, 2011I’m so excited to be participating in the first ever Lawnscaping blog hop! Thanks for visiting! You should have come here from Danielle’s blog . The theme for the hop is Magical Holidays. The hop runs from Friday, September 9th – Sunday, September 11th. Make sure to comment on all of the blogs because there are LOTS of prizes to be won! All the details can be found on the Lawnscaping home page.
For my card I chose Halloween, my favorite holiday! I used the cat and sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Critters in the ‘Burbs set and the background “bubbles” are from the Critters of the Sea set. The label dies and witches legs are die cuts from Silhouette and the patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket.
Next head on over to Gretchen’s blog. If you get lost along the way just go back to Lawnscaping for a complete lists of blogs. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays!!

Woo-Hoo
Friday, August 19th, 2011This card is for the latest challenge over at Lawnscaping. This time around the challenge is a one layer card, wow, that’s a tough one 🙂 I needed to make a card for my stepdad’s birthday so I thought I make this card for him.
I think masking is a good way to add depth without actually adding layers. For my card I used a craft cardstock base and stamped the owl and tree trunk from the Lawn Fawn Critters of the Forest set and colored them with Prismacolor pencils. I then used a masking material from Stampendous and die cut a circle and placed that over the owl and then stamped the wood stamp from Stampabilities over top. To add more depth and ground it a bit better I used a thin black marker to go around the opening and edges of the wood design. I also added the sentiment from the same set. It’s a little more clean and simple than I normally do but I think it’s fun and masculine too.

I’d like to be, under the sea…..
Tuesday, July 5th, 2011The latest Lawnscaping challenge theme is “Don’t forget the inside”. I usually do and just stamp a sentiment on the inside of my cards 🙂 On the front of the card I used my Silhouette to cut an SVG from Lettering Delights, it’s part of a submarine, I just enlarged the porthole and cut only it out. I added grey brads for the bolts and a clear transparency sheet underneath for the “glass”. On the inside is the dolphin from the Lawn Fawn “Critters of the Sea” set, along with bubbles and the sentiment.

Went to Sea in a Beautiful Pea Green Boat
Sunday, April 24th, 2011I am SO happy with the way this card turned out. It’s my second for the latest Lawnscaping “Critters” challenge. I got to thinking about the different animals in the sets and realized one has an owl and another has a cat, so I die cut a boat for an Owl and the Pussycat card. Stamps are from Lawn Fawn, papers are from My Minds Eye and the boat die cut is a Silhouette shape.

His name is Flower
Tuesday, May 18th, 2010Oh my gosh, has it really been that long since my last post?! Spring time is just so busy, I’ve been doing so much yard work, planting, weeding, mowing, etc. it’s taken up alot of my free time. I’ll try to do better 🙂
I haven’t posted any cards or stamping lately so I wanted to share a fun card I made for a class recently. They loved it, especially the flower and I wanted to share how I made it.
First off you need a large brad and some ribbon that has stitching through it, it comes in lots of colors and can be found at most craft stores. Cut a 5″ piece of ribbon and begin pulling the threads from the *same* long side on both ends. Keep pulling and gathering the ribbon as you go, when it forms a circle tie the ends of the ribbon threads together, then trim off the ends of the threads, careful not to cut through the knot. Then insert a large brad through the ribbon flowers open center and open up the brad, this will hold it in place and you can use a large glue dot to hold the flower to your project. Easy and cute, huh?
The skunk and sentiment stamp comes from a set from The Paper Company and he’s been embossed in black, the bottom of the card has been cut with a scalloped pair of decorative scissors.
