Friday, August 28th, 2015Bird Egg Nest
Monday, April 13th, 2015Over on Craft Gossip I’ve shared a product review for some new items from Imagine Crafts and I wanted to share that project along with some instructions and step by step photos of how I made my project.
I started out using Black and Brown Staz On ink pads to stamp my bird, egg and nest onto clear acetate. I turned the acetate over and used the new Staz On Studio Glazes (in Emerald City, St. Valentine and Cotton White) to color my images. After letting the glaze dry it becomes shiny and a little transparent and on a clear service it gives an amazing stained glass effect! If you color outside of the edges you can push the glaze back using the sponge tip tools , these tools also work well for swirling colors, like I did with the blue and white on the egg. Next I attached my stamped acetate to a piece of sticky back canvas paper and cardstock using brads.
Next onto a canvas board I swiped streaks using the Blue Hawaii Staz On Midi ink pad and Broze Delicata Ink and then using one of the Palette knife tools I spread streaks of Bronze Metallic Creative Medium. After that dried I also sprayed some white Irresisitable ink spray.
Lastly I used Black Staz On to stamp my quote for Emily Dickinson onto canvas paper and used the Black Radiant Neon Amplify to go over the large letter H. Amplify comes in bright neon colors as well as black and white and when heated with a heat tool it puffs up for texture and dimension. Then I adhered my words to my canvas and was done. I love how it turned out!

Monday, October 27th, 2014This custom collage was made for a friend to give as a gift to someone who loves Poe as much as I do.
Here’s some details on how I made it:
-paint a 5″ x 7″ canvas board with gray paint,
-tear a page from a vintage book and adhere on canvas using gel medium
-print vintage clip art image of Poe on cardstock and die cut, layer scallop die cut behind and adhere to canvas
-stamp raven on book page scrap, cut out and adhere
-wrap bottom of canvas with black mesh ribbon and layer on crumped and inked crepe paper
-on a metal label embellishment stamp “nevermore” with Staz-On ink, adhere over ribbon and crepe paper
-glue pen nib to metal embellishment
-on back of large domino stamp skeletons with Staz-On ink, color sides of domino with black Sharpie marker, adhere to canvas
– adhere game tiles that spell “POE” to canvas

Hocus Pocus
Tuesday, October 8th, 2013I love to incorporate stamping with my mixed media collages. Here’s some more info on how I made these fun Halloween wall decorations.
Using a vintage BINGO card as a base I stamped tiny stars all over in black ink. I made a copy of a vintage photo and tinted the girls clothes with alcohol markers, added witch hat brads to their heads and also some vintage book text. I layered this onto black cardstock trimmed with deckle edge scissors and adhered it to my bingo card. For the medallion I layered a plain punched circle from yellow cardstock onto a scalloped circle from black cardstock and on top of that I adhered a black cat which I stamped onto white cardstock, embossed using black embossing powder and cut out. To the top corners of the bingo card I added some large eyelets and tied some ribbon to hang it from.
For this card I did similar treatments on the photo, card and hanger but instead of the medallion I added some triangles cut from purple and yellow cardstocks and added stamped letters to each flag to spell out “BOO!”.
Both of these (and a few other Halloween themed collages) are currently available here in my Etsy shop.

Thursday, September 26th, 2013I’m adding lots of fun Halloween items to my Etsy shop like these collages done on vintage Bingo cards.
Are you a good witch or a bad witch?
Instead of a black cat these young witches have a black dog.
It looks like Turner Home Movies has Been Here…….
Thursday, August 1st, 2013If you’ve read this blog for any time you probably know how much I love Alice in Wonderland. I especially love the original Tennell illustrations which were published in black and white but sometimes you’ll find a copy with colorized illustrations. I found a small abridged version of Alice with color artwork at an antique store and they are the perfect size for pendants. Here’s a few soldered glass pendants I made recently with them.
Out of the sea, Wish I could be, Part of that world………..
Saturday, July 13th, 2013I’ve been holding on to a bunch a sea shells from a trip to Florida years ago and now I know why I saved them! I stamped the mermaid image from “Stampendous” and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and added glitter to her tail with a clear Starburst gel marker from Sakura. I adhered vintage map pattern paper from CTMH on a 5″ x 7″ canvas board and inked the edges with a sponge and brown stamping ink and then layered the mermaid image on top. Then using a strong clear glue I added the shells around the edges along with a brass star fish charm and also added some real beach sand under her with the same glue. I laid out my shells before I glued them down to make sure they looked nice and would fit. I also added a snippet of text cut from a vintage book that says “Under the Sea”. I think she turned out really lovely.
This piece is currently for sale in my Etsy shop.
