I recently found an amazing antique book from 1912 about famous poets and I cut out some text from Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” for a soldered charm on this mixed media necklace. I also added a book and pen nib charm too.

Even More Charming
Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012Here’s a couple more recent Halloween soldered charms and one not so Halloween 🙂
This first is a tiny black domino, I used white permanent ink to stamp on the dancing skeletons, this is perfect for Halloween and Dia de Los Muertos.
This soldered glass pendant is a cool vintage hanging bat stamp I found on Etsy. I stamped him on vintage dictionary paper.
This last one is sooooo spooky….NOT 😉 It’s a Queen Bee charm necklace, the large soldered domino has beehive paper and a silver bee charm, the smaller says Queen and there is also a large silver crown charm.
These are all available in my Etsy shop.
Charmed
Monday, October 1st, 2012I recently made several domino charms and charm necklaces for Fall and Halloween. Each domino is colored with ink and stamped with an image and then soldered around the edges.
This first one is all about one of my favorite poets Edgar Allan Poe, the round charm is a vintage wooden game piece and there is also a metal ink pen nib.
I love this cool owl image, I added another game piece with the word “who”
This one is a play on the term “skeleton key”, dancing skeletons on the domino, a metal key and skull bead
This tiny pumpkin charm also has a little leaf bead on it
and last but not least Ichabod better beware, the headless horseman is riding…..
These are currently available in my Etsy Shop.

Thursday, July 26th, 2012Reading is FUNdamental
Tuesday, May 29th, 2012In many of the vintage books I find there is usually a sweet picture on the title page of a child or animal reading a book, these make some of my favorite pendants! I love to read and despite the fact that I cut up books for my art I do dearly love books. I always try to find books that are falling apart, unwanted and unloved so I can give them a new life.
Here’s a few new “reading” pendants, both are currently available in my Etsy shop. And be on the look out for lots more new pendants in the coming weeks, I’ve gotten several great books recently with some wonderful illustrations.
Bubbles!
Wednesday, January 4th, 2012Wow, where did the month of December go?……..:)
I’ve really been enjoying making more of the round glass bubble charms, they are so tiny and sweet. Here’s a few of my recent favorites.
These can all be found in my Etsy Shop.
Blow a Bubble
Tuesday, September 27th, 2011The vintage children’s books I use for alot of my solder pendants sometimes have very tiny but cute art in them. Too small for even 1″ square pendants I thought I could find a way to make some teeny pieces with them. So recently I got some flat backed round glass bubbles that are about 3/4″. I soldered around the edges and back and they are perfect. Like a little window with a tiny surprise inside it. I adore the way they turned out!
These can currently be found in my Etsy shop.
