Sunday, July 21st, 2013I adore Jane Austen, the books, the movies, the BBC miniseries, all of it! I have a wonderful Jane inspired stamp set from Oxford Impressions that has Regency style images and quotes from Jane’s books and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite sets. It so much fun to color, especially the womens dresses. I recently made a set of 3 Artist Trading Cards (ATC’s) using them. I stamped the images with black Memento ink on cardstock and colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers (I can not stop using these markers!) and then stamped the quotes onto clear acetate and attached them over the images with brads onto coordinating colored cardstock. I also added a charm to each one that went along with the theme.
These are currently available in my Etsy shop. These have now sold.

I’ve been holding on to a bunch a sea shells from a trip to Florida years ago and now I know why I saved them! I stamped the mermaid image from “Stampendous” and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and added glitter to her tail with a clear Starburst gel marker from Sakura. I adhered vintage map pattern paper from CTMH on a 5″ x 7″ canvas board and inked the edges with a sponge and brown stamping ink and then layered the mermaid image on top. Then using a strong clear glue I added the shells around the edges along with a brass star fish charm and also added some real beach sand under her with the same glue. I laid out my shells before I glued them down to make sure they looked nice and would fit. I also added a snippet of text cut from a vintage book that says “Under the Sea”. I think she turned out really lovely.

Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013Sat June 1st from 10am-2pm I’m teaching a collage class at the Raintree Gallery in Versailles KY. If you’re curious about collage this beginners class is perfect for you! We’ll be making two 5″x7″ collages, one with a nature theme (birds, butterflies, fairies, etc), the other using a vintage photo in sepia or black and white tones. Take Flight
Thursday, April 18th, 2013A while ago a friend cleaned out her craft closet and gave me lots of cool stuff to play with. One of the things she gave me was a bag of angel wings she’d removed from some old ornaments. It took awhile to figure out what I wanted to do with them but I got the crazy idea to mount a small canvas on the front and I came up with…The Queen of Flight. There’s layers of vintage paper, felt, rhinestones, book text, a vintage button and a charm dangling from the bottom too. I think she’s ready to take flight!
What Time is It?
Tuesday, April 9th, 2013I love finding small vintage photos! I got a few recently at a antique show and one of them was an amazing Steampunk looking girl! Wearing a top hat and holding a cane she was perfect for a Steampunk/ Victorian inspired charm necklace. I also added vintage watch parts inside a vintage watch crystal along with a cool repro watch key charm. I think this necklace turned out super cool!
Spring Has Sprung!
Thursday, April 4th, 2013I think Spring is finally on it’s way, I saw my first chipmunk of the year and the first dandilion has popped up in the yard!
To help celebrate this wonderful time of year I’ve made several soldered glass pendant with animals that make me think Spring.
The first three (bunny, duckling and lamb) are vintage illustrations from a Tasha Tudor book. I love her work!
This Robin pendant has a nest on the back and comes from a vintage children’s ABC book.

Thursday, January 24th, 2013Been working on some new collages on vintage BINGO cards. Here’s the first, it’s got a pretty bird and German scrap paper nest, vintage silver button, lace flower and layers of felt and music paper with white washed scrabble tiles. It hangs from pink grommets and wire.
Gears and Cogs and Watch Parts, Oh My!
Monday, November 26th, 2012Here’s a couple of Steampunk themed collages I made recently. They both use a cool steampunk girl stamp from Sweet Pea stamps. The larger collage is on a vintage Bingo card with metal gears and cogs, move-able clock hands, it’s hanging from wire on metal grommets with a key charm.
The Art Card is on a reproduction small Bingo card that says Woman’s Auxiliary Air Force, it also has a metal gear.
