Happy Mer-May!

I used to love Sweet November rubber stamps but they stopped making them a few years ago. But I recently found out they are offering digital stamps over at 7 Kids Crafts! I got two new images Gully the Seagull and Talise the Mermaid, so cute! I used them on a card with a cool colored pencil and blender pen technique I learned from Simon Hurley.

grad card

I need to make a graduation card so I bought some adorable digital stamps from an Etsy shop called Isabel Cristina Stamps and colored the images with Gamsol odorless mineral spirits and Prismacolor Colored pencils. Click here to visit my Youtube channel to watch my latest tutorial.

Too early??

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013

Is it too early for holiday projects? I just did a review over on Craft Gossip for the Silhouette Printable Canvas and thought it would be perfect for a tree ornament. I printed a digital stamp onto the canvas, coloring it with markers and adding some white puffy paint to his hat. I die cut the canvas twice with a label shape, since the canvas is sticky I was able to sandwich the pieces together with some batting in the middle to make a cute puffy fabric ornament.

Silhouetting (is that a word?)

I’ve been using my Silhouette machine alot lately, I love mixing die cuts with stamps, it’s perfect if I need an image to complete a look I want but don’t have the right/perfect stamp and with the Silhouette I can make it any size I want. I love this machine.

Here’s a few cards I’ve made lately. The first card was for my besties b-day. It mixes a digital image of Marie Antoinette I colored with colored pencils from the Graphics Fairy site, (if you love free vintage images this is a must visit site, it’s awesome!  I linked this to their Brag Monday) along with alphabet stamps and a die cut cupcake from Lettering Delights. I love how it came together.

The next card I made just wanting to play with shapes, the deer is from Lettering Delights, the rest are from Silhouette.

This last card was made for my husbands aunt who works on a horse farm here in KY. One thing I like to do when planning out a card that is all die cuts is to pull all the images I’m planning on using up on the computer screen at once, that way it’s easy to size and lay everything out to make sure it fits and looks good, I got that helpful tip from Nicole Magourik.

So Thrilled!

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

I’m so excited and honored to be in the latest issue of Altered Hearts digital zine! One of the contributors Edeena Cross contacted me recently asking to include some of my art work in their July issue, after I said “yes, of course”, she decided to feature alot of my work and also asked me questions about my background, working process, inspirations, etc and now there is two whole pages devoted to little ol’ me in their zine, how cool is that!?

The online magazine can be found at Scrap Artists. Click here for a direct link to the July issue, it’s only $3 and totally worth the few bucks, it’s chocked full of great interviews and art work from some really terrific collage artists.

Here’s the magazine cover, you’ll have to buy it to see my article and the rest;)
