He says “Have Flurries of Fun”! I created this cute foxes in the snow scene card using the First Snow stamps and dies and the Tree House die, all from Hello Bluebird. I LOVE the Tree House die, it works so well with so many other Hello Bluebird sets.
I recently got an adorable new stamp set from Art Impressions called Mini Critter with cute sleeping animals and made a card using the fox stamp. To water color him and to make my background I used Arteza Real Brush Pens. Check out the video over on my Youtube channel.
I’ve added several smaller soldered glass charms to my Etsy shop made with vintage dictionary illustrations. Snippets of the definition for each animal is on the back of the pendant. I love how adding black patina to the solder really gives them that cool old look.
Here are the cards I made for all the Dads in my life 🙂
This one is for my Dad and I also made a matching one for my Stepdad, they both love to golf. All the shapes are die cut from Silhouette.
This is for my Grandfather, the boat is a Silhouette shape and the compass stamp is from Judikins.
This last one is for my Father in Law, he loves nature and the outdoors. The trees are from Lawn Fawn and the fox is from Hero Arts. I love that fox, he’s so cute!
Playing around my my Silhouette die cutting machine and some black heat transfer material. I ironed the images onto unbleached muslin (which is hard to tell from the photo, the glass has some glare) and then put them in simple black frames. The deer image is from Silhouette, the fox is an independent file from the Wishblade Yahoo group, the font is called “elephant”, I love that font!
I recently went to a wonderful large antique show with a friend (who bought a super cool vintage Ouija board) and found a couple of really cute children’s books from the 60’s. People are always asking me where I find the book I use for my art work and my best recommendations are used book shops and antique shows, you can usually find some really great books, vintage photos, postcards, music sheets, etc.
Here’s a couple of soldered pendants I made using some illustrations from one of those books.
A tiny cute squirrel, the back says “oh nuts”:
A sweet fawn, the back says “oh deer”:
a sly little fox, the back says “foxy”:
and my personal fave a chimp in a party hat and pink bow tie:
I recently found a wonderful children’s story book from 1929 that has some beautiful illustrations in it and decided to use them for some soldered pendants, on the backs I added words I cut out from the stories.
This first one was about the story of a little bunny who wanted red wings, on the back it says “I wish I had a pair of little red wings”
This next one is a pretty red fox who was down and thinking, the back says “the fox thought and thought”
This one is a cute little grey squirrel and the back says “Mr. Bushy Tail”
These unique pendants are currently on sale in my Etsy shop:
