We’re All Mad Here

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013I love finding small vintage photos! I got a few recently at a antique show and one of them was an amazing Steampunk looking girl! Wearing a top hat and holding a cane she was perfect for a Steampunk/ Victorian inspired charm necklace. I also added vintage watch parts inside a vintage watch crystal along with a cool repro watch key charm. I think this necklace turned out super cool!
Alice is So Charming
Thursday, December 13th, 2012Wow, I’ve been a terrible blogger lately, sorry! Right before Thanksgiving my 93 year old Grandfather passed away and then I’ve been all caught up getting ready for the holidays, it’s been a hectic (and sad) time.
Right before all this happened though I spent a lot of time getting new jewelry pieces made and am just now getting them on-line. I made a bunch of single soldered pendants and also many charm necklaces too.
Here’s a few new Alice in Wonderland themed necklaces, all currently available in my Etsy shop (along with many more new items as well).
Thanks for stopping by!

Charmed
Monday, October 1st, 2012I recently made several domino charms and charm necklaces for Fall and Halloween. Each domino is colored with ink and stamped with an image and then soldered around the edges.
This first one is all about one of my favorite poets Edgar Allan Poe, the round charm is a vintage wooden game piece and there is also a metal ink pen nib.
I love this cool owl image, I added another game piece with the word “who”
This one is a play on the term “skeleton key”, dancing skeletons on the domino, a metal key and skull bead
This tiny pumpkin charm also has a little leaf bead on it
and last but not least Ichabod better beware, the headless horseman is riding…..
These are currently available in my Etsy Shop.

Soar High
Saturday, January 7th, 2012Here’s another recent collage. Guess I’m on a quote kick, this one is inspired by a William Blake quote. It’s on 5″ x 7″ canvas board painted grey with vintage music sheet background. The cage is on a transparency and it’s embellished with a silver bird charm, metal key, metal clip, vintage measuring tape and letter beads.
So Charming
Monday, June 7th, 2010Here’s a couple of new charm necklaces I’ve made recently. I’m enjoying mixing altered and soldered game pieces and charms together.
The first one is sort of a pun, it’s a skeleton key necklace. A large metal key with a skull charm and a soldered domino charm with dancing skeletons.
This one is all Alice, a tiny glass bottle filled with blue beads and three soldered game charms, a domino with Alice on a blue background, an “A” scrabble tile with vintage “Alice” text and a vintage bingo tile with vintage “drink me” text.
These are both currently available in my Etsy shop, click here to visit.
Welcome Home
Friday, June 19th, 2009I love the shape of a house as a base for a collage, it’s warm and well, so homey:) I just finished this collage on canvas board, the background on the board is layers of Tim Holtz’ crackled paint with several colors of ink rubbed over top of the paint. I cut the shape of the house and chimney from vintage book paper, I inked the edges to make it more aged looking and added a strip from a vintage tape measure as the base of the house. I cut the roof out of black cardstock that has a white core, I then sanded it to bring out some of the white and make it look more shabby. I made a copy of a lovely Victorian photograph I have and mounted it in the middle of the house using black photo corners. I had a small piece left from timming the tape measure and added it like a house number. Before I attached the roof I added some letters cut from an vintage book, small brads and sewed on a large metal key. I think a collage like this would be the perfect house warming gift for someone moving into a new home.
