I made this cute slimline style Valentine’s Day Card with stamps and dies from Heffy Doodle, additional dies from Stamping Up and Hello Bluebird, colored using chalks and a blender pen. Visit my Youtube channel to check out my card tutorial or watch below.
I created a fun pouch card for Valentine’s Day to hold a hot chocolate pack or candy bar. I used Happy Tails stamp set and Be Mine Stitched Heart dies from Stampin up.
I’ve really been enjoying making Valentine’s Day cards this year! My latest is has a sweet romantic look and was made with the Stampin Up Meant to Be stamps, All My Love papers, cardstock and ribbon and the Be Mine Stitched Heart Dies.
I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about some new ink blending brushes from Picket Fence Studio called Life Changing Brushes. I’ve also hear a lot of talk about dupes that are much less expensive and made for make-up application. I found a set of 10 on Ebay for only $6 so I decided to give them a try. I think they work really well and used them to make this cute Valentine Skunk card using the Hey Love stamps and Stitched Heart dies from Stampin’ Up too.
The challenge over at the Lawnscaping blog is to make a card inspired by one of the design team members, I chose Audrey, I love her use of pattern papers, making cute scenes and she uses grass a lot, which I like to do too.
For my card I used the Critters at the Dog Park stamp set from Lawn Fawn, this cute little pooch is in love with the fire hydrant 🙂
One of the few remaining magazine devoted completely to rubber stamping is The Stamper’s Sampler. I recently posted a review of their latest Winter issue along with a card inspired by Tim Holtz, who is the featured artist. Click here to read my review over on Craft Gossip, including how to make my Tim inspired Valentine card, this is a great masculine style, perfect to give to the man in your life.
I adore Jane Austen, the books, the movies, the BBC miniseries, all of it! I have a wonderful Jane inspired stamp set from Oxford Impressions that has Regency style images and quotes from Jane’s books and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorite sets. It so much fun to color, especially the womens dresses. I recently made a set of 3 Artist Trading Cards (ATC’s) using them. I stamped the images with black Memento ink on cardstock and colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers (I can not stop using these markers!) and then stamped the quotes onto clear acetate and attached them over the images with brads onto coordinating colored cardstock. I also added a charm to each one that went along with the theme.
These are currently available in my Etsy shop. These have now sold.
For those in the KY area I’m teaching a stamping card class this month at Raintree Gallery in Versailles, it’s near the bypass to Frankfort at 240B Crossfield Drive, Versailles, KY 40383. They have a nice large class room space.

Please let me know if you have any questions and if you’re interested in signing up please call the gallery at 859-873-8822
I’m sorry it’s been so long since my last post. The year has hardly begun and already it’s been rough. I’ve had alot of health issues and almost two weeks ago I unexpectedly lost my Grandfather (which has been terribly hard for the whole family).
But I’ve been trying to keep busy, mostly by redoing my work space. I’m almost done, it looks so great and functions so much better than before, I feel so organized! I’ll post before and after pics soon.
In the meantime here’s a few collages I’ve made recently with the thought of Valentine’s Day and love. I took white chipboard and cut out a heart shape (aprox. 5 1/2″ square) and adhered some vintage music sheet and patterned papers that I’d whitewashed and “sponged” with painted bubble wrap. I then added German paper scrap birds, vintage text, ribbons, sewed on buttons, etc. I punched holes at the top and added eyelets and wrapped cream wire for hangers. I think they turned out really pretty, they have a very shabby chic look to them. I love the blue one so much I might even keep it for myself:) The other two are currently for sale in my Etsy Shop.
