This lovely shadow box style necklace is made with snippets of vintage lace and vintage measuring tape with a vintage button and a silver scissors charm.

Tim says “Make it Work!”
Thursday, February 16th, 2012Here’s my latest collage piece inspired by Tim Gunn’s famous Project Runway quote: “Make it Work!”. The painted wooden tag in the middle has a paper dress with a tiny vintage button that’s hanging on a little wire hanger with a paper tag. I used a lot of vintage sewing items to embellish it like part of a tape measure, spool and wooden clothes pin. The background paper is vintage music sheet.

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009I’m a HUGE fan a Project Runway and I LOVE Tim Gunn, I want to go shopping with him:) So I made this soldered collage pendant inspired by his famous line on the show “Make it work!”. The background on the front is from a vintage dictionary, the definition for “stitch”, and I added a piece of vintage tape measure and a tag with string that says “make it work”. The back is cut from a tissue paper pattern and I added the word “sew”. On the bottom of the pendant I added a tiny safety pin and a scissors charm. I love the way it turned out! 🙂
